How the WPL works
The Women's Premier League is the BCCI's franchise T20 competition for women, first played in 2023. Each of the five teams plays the other four twice, so the league stage is short and one bad week can end a season.
The team that finishes top goes straight to the final. Second and third meet in the Eliminator for the other place. There is no second chance, so in the last round of league games the prices for second place and a top finish can move a lot.
