How bets are accepted, settled and voided
On Powerplay247 a bet counts once it shows as placed or matched in your bet history. Markets settle on the official result, and session markets settle when their stage of the innings is complete. Bets can be voided if a match is abandoned before the result is decided or if a price was clearly wrong. Where a market shows its own rules, those rules apply.
Your bet history is the record of what was placed.
Markets settle on the result from the governing body.
Stakes are returned when a market can't be settled fairly.
Plainly wrong prices are corrected or voided.
A bet is accepted when it appears as placed or matched in your bet history, at the odds shown there. If the price moves while you're confirming, the bet goes through at the new price or is rejected. It isn't placed at a price you didn't see.
Powerplay247 uses decimal odds. Your return on a winning back bet is your stake multiplied by the odds.
A back bet wins if your selection wins. A lay bet wins if your selection doesn't win. When you lay, your liability is the amount you'd pay the backer if the selection wins, and it's held from your balance until the market settles.
An exchange bet is only live once another player has matched it. Any part that's still unmatched when the market closes is cancelled and returned to you.
A session market is on runs, wickets or another figure over a set stage of an innings, such as the first six overs. It settles when that stage is complete, without waiting for the match to end.
If the stage can't be completed, for example because rain shortens the innings, unsettled session bets are usually voided unless the market's own rules say how the result is decided.
Markets already decided before the stoppage, such as the toss or a completed session, stand. Markets that depend on the part of the match that wasn't played are voided and stakes are returned, unless the market's own rules name another settlement.
If a match is postponed and not played within the time set in the market rules, open bets on it are voided.
Markets are briefly suspended at key moments, like a wicket, a goal or a review, while prices update. You can't place bets during a suspension. Bets placed after an event had already happened, because of a delay in the feed, can be voided.
If a market shows a price that's plainly wrong because of a technical or human error, the bets affected can be settled at the correct price or voided. The same applies to a market that was settled on an incorrect result, which is resettled once the official result is confirmed.
Markets settle on the official result given by the governing body or competition organiser at the end of the event. Later changes, such as an appeal or disqualification, don't change a market that has already settled unless its rules say so.
Each live table and game has its own rules and minimum stake, shown on the table. If a game malfunctions or a live dealer makes an error, the round affected is voided and stakes are returned.
Some markets carry their own rules. Where they differ from this page, the market's rules apply. If you aren't sure how a market settles, ask a manager before you bet.
